Sharm El Sheikh: The Shura Council participated on Sunday in a parliamentary meeting in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, on the sidelines of the 27th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention on Climate Change (COP27).
The Council was represented in the meeting, which was organised by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in partnership with the House of Representatives of Egypt, by H E Mubarak bin Mohammed Al Kuwari and H E Salem bin Rashid Al Muraikhi, members of the Council.
The meeting discussed various topics centred on climate change, the urgent need to address this crisis, the role of parliaments in facing this challenge, and supporting sustainability, in addition to the topic of climate action and sustainable development, ways to prioritise accountability for climate justice.
