The direct injection turbocharged engine provides more immediate power and torque for effortless acceleration and overtaking while maintaining excellent fuel economy. The smooth ride and athletic responses are further enhanced with the latest advances in SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY, of which CX-9 boasts the full suite. It’s performance like you’ve never known.
It produces a 250 horsepower, a figure complemented by a whopping 420 Nm torque. Importantly, torque is easy to access in the lower part of the rev range, with peak twist coming in at just 2,000 rpm.
The innovative Dynamic Pressure Turbo adjusts boost pressure and airflow according to engine speed to overcome traditional problems such as turbo lag.
The intelligent, on-demand i-ACTIV AWD system in brand-new Mazda CX-9 uses electronic controls to distribute torque evenly across the vehicle.
The system sources information from 27 different sensors to predict changes in driving conditions including road surface, weather, driver intentions and more to deliver optimum torque and vehicle control at the required time.
i-ACTIVSENSE advanced safety technologies take driver confidence to the highest level. These intelligent systems are designed to help you recognise potential hazards, avoid collisions and to minimise the severity of accidents when they’re unavoidable.
