8.3m gallons of water pumped out after heavy rains

DOHA: The rain emergency team at Al Rayyan municipality pumped out more than 8.3 million gallons of water from low-lying areas across the municipality following the heavy rains on Friday, which is enough to fill hundreds of swimming pools.
Many areas like Al Sailiya, Abu Nakhla, Sheehania and Ruwais received the highest rains on that day. The thunderstorm caused flooding in several places , including the Labseer tunnel on Sheehania road.
Tankers from Doha, Wakrah, Al Khor, Umm Salal and Daian municipalities were called in to support the massive operation, that was carried out over the past three days, Al Sharq reported. 
Al Shamal municipality sent team of 23  people including drivers, workers and supervisors to join the campaign. The team alone pumped out 773,500 gallons of water.
