DOHA: With the Haj season is upcoming the travel clinic at Al Ahli Hospital is providing vaccine for pilgrims to prevent getting infected by illness.
Dr Abdolilah Baxarawi, Travel Medicine Associate consultant at the travel clinic, advices pilgrims planning to perform Haj to get vaccines against infections including hepatitis A and B, influenza and all routine vaccinations such as measles.
Dr Baxarawi said to prevent respiratory infection, maintain high levels of personal hygiene; pilgrims will have to wash their hands frequently with soap and water. Avoid touching people them face. They also have to keep some distance from people who are coughing sneezing or appear to be sick. Wearing face masks in crowded place is recommended.
In addition to prevent skin infections pilgrims are advised not share razors and preferably use single use razors only use registered barber at officially designated centers where you should insist on new shaving blades.
Also Dr Baxarawi people who get cough and short breath upon their return here should consult a physician immediately.
