Doha: Starz Play, the on-demand video streaming service available in 17 countries across the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region, yesterday announced that through its collaboration with Ooredoo Qatar, all Ooredoo tv and Mozaic TV customers are now able to enjoy a wide catalogue of premium 4K and HD Arabic series.
Ooredoo and Starz Play announced an exclusive multi-year deal in 2015 to offer more “smart entertainment” options to Ooredoo Qatar customers.
Since then, Ooredoo has launched its award-winning Ooredoo tv service, as the company moves to become the pre-eminent entertainment provider in Qatar. The new Arabic series, which has been sourced from major studios, including Sabbah Pictures, Eagle Film and Italia Films, are available now on Ooredoo tv and the Mozaic TV service.
Speaking about the content, Yousuf Al Kubaisi, COO, Ooredoo Qatar, said: “We invest heavily to ensure a range of Arabic content is available and we’re delighted to partner with Starz Play to give our viewers access to premium Arabic series in 4K quality as well as the best Hollywood content. We’re proud to say that Ooredoo tv and Mozaic TV offer programmes for the whole family, in a host of languages.”
Maaz Sheikh, CEO, Starz Play, said: “As part of our continued commitment to cater to our Arabic speaking subscribers, Starz Play has been adding a significant numbers of HD and 4K Arabic titles to its wide library of Hollywood movies and series. Starz Play customers accessing via Ooredoo tv and Mozaic TV can now enjoy more than 1,300 hours of premium Arabic series.”
Content includes the latest Arabic dramas such as Saq Al Bamboo and Malik Bin Al Rayb, as well as a wide range of blockbuster Hollywood movies and same-time-as-the-US series on the Starz Play platform.
Starz Play features more than 4,500 hours of the best Hollywood movies, documentaries, children’s entertainment, same-day-as-the-US series and Arabic content in full HD and 4K. Mozaic TV and Ooredoo Broadband customers can access Ooredoo tv by using the ‘Collect & Go’ service at any Ooredoo shop to collect their new Ooredoo tv box. Installation is simple and can be done instantly by customers in their homes.
Ooredoo tv is available via Ooredoo shops, Starlink, TechnoBlue and Jumbo outlets. The service has no upfront charges, no equipment costs and no ongoing contracts.
Existing Mozaic TV customers who migrate to Ooredoo tv will be awarded a 30- day free subscription to Starz Play.
