Doha: Minister of Youth and Sports H E Salah bin Ghanem Al Ali met yesterday with head and members of the executive office of the Arab Association for Camal Racing, on the sidelines of their meeting yesterday.
The Minister praised the association’s efforts in promoting the sport across the Arab world and giving it the status it deserves, given its one of the core parts of Arab heritage and an important component of its culture.
The Minister added that the State of Qatar, represented in the Ministry of Youth and Sports, strongly supports the association in its bid to achieve its goal of turning camel racing into one of the sports that capture the imagination of the Arab people.
He welcomed the guests of the State of Qatar members of the association, and stressed that Qatar will continue its support to the association as a great umbrella for all camel racing federations in the GCC and Arab world.
He noted that the move of the association’s presidency to the State of Qatar in the latest elections enhanced its responsibility and commitment to achieve its goals to serve fans of the sport.
