Doha: Summer in Qatar (SiQ) has curated a special treat for concert-goers with a lineup of varied music shows to suit everyone’s taste this season.

The concerts feature prominent artistes from different parts of the world offering a kaleidoscope of entertainment to residents and visitors alike.

Kicking off the summer concert season is the Bollywood Music Festival slated on June 21 to coincide with World Music Day celebrations. One FM Live in cooperation with SiQ brings the best of Bollywood music in this one-of-a-kind show presented in a grand scale.

The festival is expected to rock the 10,000 capacity Lusail Indoor Arena with over 50 musicians led by multi-award winning versatile singing sensation Sunidhi Chauhan who first mesmerised Doha with her stunning performance during the opening ceremony of Doha Asian Games in 2006.

She will be joined by equally famous and talented vocalists Guru Randhawa, Neeraj Shridhar, Bhoomi Trivedi, and Ragini Tandan along with a host of surprises, according to organisers.

Electronic Dance Music (EDM) lovers are sure to have a blast on July 25 as American electronic music producer and DJ Marshmello take the Qatar National Convention Center (QNCC) stage playing his chart-topping hits.

The intriguing masked performer behind the smash hits “Silence,” “Friends,” “Happier” and “Wolves” has already collaborated with famous singers and won several awards.

The concert is produced by The Social Studio following the breakthrough success of the show by another EDM artist The Chainsmokers who rocked the 5,000 crowd at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center during the Shop Qatar festival last year. For the first time in Doha, the highly popular Blue Man Group will be staging shows from August 14 to 17 at QNCC as part of their world tour.

This award-winning theatrical phenomenon will see the three bald and blue performers surprise the audience with their out-of-the-box performance combining music and comedy with stories, custom instruments and sensory stimulating graphics in this series of shows presented by Alchemy Project and SiQ.

In store for Arabic music fans are two shows by Iraqi singer-songwriter Kadim Al Saher, considered one of the most successful Arab singers in history. He will enthrall the audience singing some of his popular songs on August 16 and 17 at QNCC’s Al Mayassa Theatre.

With the series of concerts, comedy shows, movie awards, family shows and film screenings; entertainment is one of the major features of this year’s summer festival.
