Lebanese School – Qatar students with the trophy.
After a successful campaign of visiting a number of educational institutions and government organisations over the course of the last two weeks, the Qatar Football Association’s (QFA) special delegation stopped by more schools to extend their Emir Cup trophy tour.
On their recent visits, the QFA delegation was welcomed by students of the Lebanese School – Qatar, the Cairo Private School and the Al Yarmouk Independent Preparatory School for Boys – Doha.
The QFA team was welcomed by Dr Wajih Asaad, Director General of the School, Nancy Haddad, Director of the preparatory and secondary levels, and PE teacher Samir Ghazwini. The students spoke to the QFA delegation on the strengths of the four teams competing in the semifinals. The students also spent some time having their pictures snapped at the gathering with the Emir Cup trophy. Salah Ramez, Principal of the School, welcomed the QFA delegation on the Emir Cup trophy tour. Alaa Sedqi, Deputy Director for Academic Affairs, and Professor Mohammed Kamal, Coordinator of Physical Education, were also present.
The school students asked QFA officials about the history of the tournament that was first held in 1972. The Emir Cup, they were told, is the country’s top football event.
