Doha: Claes Byberg displayed dazzling form to emerge victorious in the Gross score category of Qatar Senior Open golf tournament organised by Doha Golf Club (DGC) over the weekend.
The 2-day competition played on the DGC Championship course attracted 120 golfers. Byberg carded a gross score of 143 after 36 holes while Rashid Akl who scored 146 was declared runner-up. Tittle sponsor of the event was Ammico who has been sponsoring the event since its inception 3 years ago. Ammico CEO Jamal Nasir and Managing partner Fazal Kazi hosted a prize distribution and dinner for all golfers and gave away prizes to all winners.
Fahad bin Nasser Al Naimi, General Secretary of the Qatar Golf Association crowned the winner and said that the Qatar Senior Open sponsored by Ammico is unique, and has a very good reputation among golf championships in the region.
