Doha: The Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani chaired the first meeting of the Board of Directors of the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy for the year 2023, which was held at the Amiri Diwan this morning.
The Deputy Amir HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani and HH Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, Personal Representative of the Amir, participated in the meeting.
HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs was also among the attendees.
HH the Amir began the meeting by lauding the efforts made by all state authorities which contributed to the successful hosting of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. HH the Amir also praised the positive interaction by members of society, citizens and residents, which contributed to enriching the tournament’s atmosphere.
During the meeting, a report on the conclusion of the tournament was reviewed, and a presentation on the overall achievements made during the hosting was shown. Plans to benefit from the legacy of the tournament in a number of state sectors were also reviewed.
