Kuwait: A German low-cost airline was confirmed clear and safe after reports of a suspected bomb onboard, said Kuwaiti Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Sunday.
Eurowings flight had 299 passengers onboard and took off from Salalah, Oman en route to Cologne, Germany, DGCA's spokesman Mansour Al Hashemi told Kuwaiti News Agency (KUNA).
He added that captain of the plane requested an emergency landing at Kuwait International Airport in accordance with required safety regulations.
According to Al Hashemi, initial investigations confirmed the plane was explosives-free.
