Doha: Qatar Museums (QM) has taken part in the nationwide Flag Relay 2018, which aims to promote pride and unity and to inspire the people of Qatar to celebrate this year Qatar National Day.
Athletes, ambassadors and diplomats, schoolchildren and other participating organizations across Qatar have joined in to mark the occasion. The ceremony, which took place beside the iconic Museum of Islamic Art, saw QM Acting CEO Ahmad Musa Al Namla receive the flag from Margarita Zuniga, Historian Officer Qatar Chapter, and hand it over to Dutch professional footballer Wesley Sneijder, who currently plays for Al-Gharafa.
Commenting on QM’s participation, Al Namla said: “It’s a tremendous honour to be part of the Flag Relay 2018 and share this experience with everyone in Qatar. Qatar Museums embraces the spirit of unity and diversity, something that is seen across our institutions and supports our programming.”
