Many people suffering from obesity issues, a majority of them Qatari women, seek weight loss solutions at VLCC willingness centres in Doha.
The VLCC takes unique holistic approaches without any appetite suppressants, medication, crash diets, food supplements or invasive surgeries.
Over 80 percent of visitors at VLCC centres are Qatari women and more than 250 people are treated on daily basis.
Also, five percent of visitors are adolescents and are Qataris and other Arab nationals, according VLCC officials.
‘’We provide our clients with diet consultations, it’s a combination of nutrition, diet and exercise,” said Sheena Madan, area head of VLCC-Qatar.
“They are also given a face firming, under chin firming and breast firming and figure correction after weight loss,” Madan said.
“Our services are for men and women, but the majority of our clients are Qatari women,” she added.
Everyone at VLCC is given a tailor-made programme, keeping in mind cultural eating patterns and individual lifestyles.
Medical history, body mass index and body composition analysis are also considered.
Then a safe modification in food intake and lifestyle is advised and a passive and physical activity regimen is worked out, while intensive counselling continues at every stage.
Every weight loss programme is supplemented with essential body firming, toning and detoxifying therapies to help keep the skin firm and toned throughout the weight loss process, according to Madan.
“We suggest that a person could lose 10kg within 60 days. We have a client who lost 46kg within seven months.”
However, VLCC pays special attention to adolescents as weight loss could affect their growth.
Also, parents of those children are advised on lifestyle changes which need to be followed during the weight loss process.
“We provide all adolescents coming here with a balance of nutrition counselling and physical activity,’’ said Amanda Yaacoub, Area Technical Head — Slimming at VLCC.
