Doha: In a bid to enhance public safety and encourage community involvement, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) has once again shared comprehensive guidelines on utilising the Al-Adeed service within the Metrash mobile application.

This initiative underscores the MoI’s commitment to leveraging technology for preventive security, allowing citizens and residents to report various violations swiftly and anonymously. The service, launched as part of ongoing updates to the Metrash app, empowers users to contribute to a safer society by addressing issues that could escalate into larger threats.

According to an X post by the MoI yesterday, the Al-Adeed service is accessible through the “Security” window in the app. Users can submit reports on five key categories: public morals violations, negative phenomena or behaviors, exposure to threats, infractions in tourist areas, and administrative corruption.

These reports help the Preventive Security Department respond promptly, fostering a proactive approach to law enforcement. To use the service, follow these simple steps: First, open the Metrash app and navigate to the “Security” section, then select “Security Complaint.” Next, choose the “Preventive Security Department.” Proceed to “Al-Adeed Service Reporting,” where you’ll fill in details such as a description of the incident, upload photos if available, and mark the location via an integrated map. Finally, select the appropriate complaint type from the dropdown menu and submit. The process is user-friendly, requiring no in-person visits, and ensures confidentiality to protect reporters.

The MoI emphasised that security is a shared responsibility, urging all residents to participate actively. This digital tool not only streamlines reporting but also reduces response times, deterring potential crimes and promoting ethical conduct across Qatar. By integrating such features, the Metrash app continues to evolve as a one-stop platform for government services, from traffic violations to emergency reporting.

It would be recalled that the General Directorate of Traffic of the Ministry of Interior, recently announced a significant enhancement to the vehicle ownership transfer system, now available through the Metrash mobile application.

This update makes the process faster, more secure, and user-friendly.

With the latest upgrade, vehicle ownership can now be transferred seamlessly via the Metrash app, provided the vehicle has a valid registration and there are no outstanding traffic violations.

The system now incorporates a critical verification step, requiring the buyer’s confirmation before finalizing the transaction — adding an extra layer of transparency and control for both parties.
