DOHA: Qatar Airways yesterday announced a further expansion of its African operations with plans to launch scheduled flights to Eritrea’s capital city Asmara on December 4, 2014.
The twice-weekly flights will feature 12 seats in Business Class and 132 seats in Economy.
Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker said: “We are very pleased to be reinforcing our presence in Africa with the launch of scheduled flights to Asmara, allowing us to further expand our business on the African continent. There is clearly demand and huge potential to and from Eritrea.”
The Doha-Asmara schedules are:
Thursdays and Saturdays: QR1443 departs from Doha at 2030 and arrives in Asmara at 2359.
Fridays and Sundays: QR1444 departs from Asmara at 0245 and arrives in Doha at 0605.
