Doha, Qatar: The US Embassy in Doha will nominate ten mid-career filmmakers for the Global Media Makers Los Angeles Residency (GMM) in the summer of 2024. Filmmakers with Qatar citizenship or residency, who have been part of at least one produced film project as either a writer, producer, or director, are invited to learn more and apply at US Embassy in Doha’s official website.
Global Media Makers is a six-week residency and cultural exchange program that brings together international filmmakers and prominent US entertainment professionals. Selected filmmakers can develop their screenwriting, directing, creative producing, or documentary filmmaking projects during the residency.
Participants will also attend master classes and explore new filmmaking technology. Global Media Makers, supported by Film Independent and the US Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, covers all expenses for selected filmmakers, including transportation and accommodation in Los Angeles.
Filmmakers with Qatar citizenship or residency are invited to submit their interest by Wednesday, August 1.
