Southampton, United Kingdom--England, after winning the toss, were dismissed for 302 by New Zealand in the third one-day international at Southampton on Sunday.
Eoin Morgan, the England captain, made 71, and all-rounder Ben Stokes scored 68.
But England, who lost their last five wickets for 14 runs, were held to a relatively modest total as New Zealand bowled them out with 28 balls left in the innings.
Tim Southee took three for 44 in 8.2 overs and debutant Ben Wheeler, replacing injured fellow left-arm seamer Trent Boult, three for 63 on ODI debut.
The five-match series is level at 1-1 after England won the first ODI at Edgbaston by a record 210 runs and New Zealand the second, by 13 runs on the Duckworth/Lewis method at The Oval.
