Paris - Europe's main stock markets closed higher on Thursday in light holiday trade, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index up 0.34 percent to end the day at 6,973.04 points.
The CAC 40 in Paris rose 1.36 percent to 5,029.31 points, while the DAX 30 in Frankfurt climbed 1.84 percent to 11,559.82 points.
