Doha: As part of its mission to cultivate a sense of unity among health profession students and contribute to the community, the Interprofessional Education (IPE) Student Association at Qatar University (QU) organised an outreach initiative under the theme ‘More active people for a healthier world'. The event held at Landmark Mall attracted more than 500 visitors. More than 40 students, faculty and alumni from various institutions participated in the awareness campaign.

The various stations featured a variety of activities, such as physical activity trivia targeting adults, and games and giveaways tailored for children. Visitors were also offered informative flyers containing practical tips to increase their understanding of personal health maintenance.
One station provided information and resources on nutrition and healthy dietary habits. The station was divided into different segments, detailing food-labeling concepts, in addition to presenting information concerning added sugar, fiber, and fat. The station also included tangible examples of these concepts to aid visitors in comprehending these crucial aspects of their daily nutrition.
In addition, visitors were given information to enhance awareness about human body, emphasizing the significance of cultivating a positive body image and treating one’s body with kindness and support, irrespective of differences. This includes the importance of mental health in individuals and how it contributes to their overall physical well-being.
