Doha: The Telangana Welfare Association (TWA) joined the Sport Day celebrations with its very first Badminton tournament.Twenty-six teams participated in the competition.
TWA Sports and Youth Activities Secretary Mohammed Shoieb said this is part of their various welfare activities during the said event to promote sports and develop relationship with the Indian Community in the country. The league matches were played during Fridays and the final tournament was held on February 11 at the Old Ideal School indoor stadium. Team Friends Suhail and Sinnu emerged as the winners of the tournament.
TWA Preisdent Khaja Nizamuddin congratulated the winners and said all participants are winners as everyone took time from their busy schedules and showed interest in playing badminton. He also highlighted that playing a sport is vital to have a healthy way of life for better fitness living.
