‘The Story of Qatar’ Operetta draws huge crowd

Doha: The Drama Theatre at the Cultural Village Foundation- Katara in cooperation with the memory arts and heritage organised a play named — ‘The Story of Qatar’ Operetta on Friday and yesterday, which is sought to be the second show held under Katara heritage Operetta. 

The operetta was held in the presence of a large audience from different nationalities. On a span of twenty musical scenes, the play highlighted the various historical stages witnessed by the State of Qatar, including, the subsequent changes and the comprehensive renaissance. 

The operetta also showcased the values of the Qatari society and its various social factors.

In addition, the play presented social images that showcased the cultural identity of the Qatari people, entailing; the maritime adventures, diving and the accompanying sacrifices and patience it thrives with. 

The operetta evoked the history of Qatar on a span of different periods of time since its establishment till today. The show received inclusive admiration and appreciation from the audiences, who responded with warm applause with the historical operetta. 

It is noteworthy that the Katara heritage Operetta entails a series of three musical plays that represent the history of Qatar, social elements, its unique cultural identity and the main events that have helped form the bright phases of the State of Qatar. The plays also aid in documenting rich Qatari values and victories.

The audience will be on a date with the third ‘Story of Qatar’ play scheduled to take place on February 2 and February 3 at Katara’s Drama Theatre.
