PARIS: Qatar participated in a conference 'Solidarity with Ukrainian People', organized by the French Republic in partnership with Ukraine, in the French capital Paris, today, December 13, 2022.
The event's aim is to respond to the urgent needs of Ukraine and to provide immediate assistance to the Ukrainian people.
The State of Qatar was represented at the conference by the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the French Republic HE Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al-Thani.
The conference was chaired by the President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron and the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who was represented by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Anatoliyovych Shmyhal, in the presence of a number of senior officials.
The conference focused on 5 basic areas: energy, water, food, health and transportation, in order to enable the Ukrainian people to keep the basic infrastructure running during the winter.
Qatar's participation in the conference stems from its full readiness to contribute to any international and regional effort aimed at alleviating the Russian-Ukrainian crisis and is in line with its position of supporting peaceful solutions through dialogue and mediation.
