Jail term for forging residence permit

DOHA: A Criminal Court sentenced an Asian for one year in jail for making changes in his expired residence permit to extend the validity. The court also ordered to cancel the forged document and deport the convicted to his home country.

During investigation it was found that he was living in the country illegally. He was under the sponsorship of his father and his residence permit expired when he reached the age of 18, Al Sharq reported.
