Islamabad: The Pakistan military announced the killing of 12 of its soldiers in an ambush conducted by armed militants in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, northwest of the country.
In a statement on Saturday, the military explained that the clash erupted following the attack and resulted in killing 13 armed militants following an intense exchange of fire, while at least four others sustained injuries.
This incident comes amid years of ongoing confrontations between the Pakistan army and armed militant groups operating in various parts of the country, particularly in the border areas near Afghanistan.
