MENA Digital Cup: Qatar clinch three trophies in Jordan

Doha: Qatar’s Khalid Al Maraghi and Faesal Al Yafei yesterday won three trophies at the inaugural Toyota Gazoo MENA Digital Cup which took place in Jordan with the participation of gamers from 11 nations.

The Qatari duo won the third place in the Country Challenge race while Al Maraghi was placed third in the Elimination Challenge race in which Al Yafei came fourth. In the final race, Al Maraghi finished in the third position.

The two prominent e-sport players were selected to represent Qatar by the Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF) following their successful appearances at the Qatar Digital Motorsports Championship. The two gamers went through an extensive preparation before the MENA Digital Cup and were coached by Rami Azzam, the Qatar Digital Motorsports Instructor as well as Ahmed Kholy, the multiple-time Qatar Digital Motorsports champion.

The championship replicate the real racing world with unprecedented accuracy thanks to a partnership with one of the most advanced online driving simulator games - Gran Turismo Sport - and the latest hardware and software technologies pertaining to racing rigs and racing simulators. 

Participants from Lebanon, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Cyprus, Palestine, Mauritania, Oman and Jordan were vying for honours at the Championship, organised by Jordan Motorsport under the auspices of the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA).
