Doha: A goal nine minutes from end from striker Said Boutahar helped Al Shamal to pick up a point against Umm Salal in the third round match of the Qatar Stars League here yesterday.
Al Shamal with yesterday’s draw, their second of the league, took their points tally to two points from three matches.
Umm Salal, who lost one and won one increased their points to four points from yesterday’s draw.
Umm Salal had the match in control and were on the verge of picking up full points untill the 81st minute at which time Boutahar shattered their hopes.
Coach Bulent Uygun side took the lead in the 12th minute through Murad Naji and Tuncay Volkan Sanli added the second one in the 40th minute.
In between, Boutahar equalised for Al Shamal in the 18th minute.
In the other matches yesterday, Al Ahli and Al Khor share a point apiece in the one-all draw.
The match saw two late goals.
Al Khor went ahead in the 79th minute with Julius Cesear finding the back of the net, while Al Ahli bounced back to secure the equaliser six minutes from the final whistle. Prolific scorer Alan Deco latched on to a defensive lapse to put the teams on level terms. Al Shahaniya and Al Kharaitiyat match also ended in 1-1 draw.The Peninsula
