Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) has issued a statement setting a deadline for vehicle sales points to adhere to the Gulf Standard Specifications before penalties apply.

The deadline was set on December 31, 2025, as the Ministry declared that vehicle sales point can continue selling or promoting vehicles registered before that date, even if they were non compliant with Gulf Standard Specifications.

The vehicles registered after December 31, 2025, if non compliant with Gulf Standard Specifications, will not be allowed to be sold, promoted, or traded with in any way, whether in showrooms or through digital sales points.

The Ministry had previously issued a circular obligating showrooms and digital sales points to refrain from selling, promoting, or trading with vehicles that are non compliant with Gulf Standard Specifications in Qatar.

However, the Ministry stressed on adhering to this circular after the deadline has passed, as selling points should commit to refraining from selling, promoting, or trading with vehicles non-compliant to Gulf Standard Specifications.

The Ministry calls on all traders and commercial outlets to cooperate by fully complying with the provisions of this circular, ensuring the preservation of trust between consumer and provider.
