QSE investors’ wealth rises to QR561bn

Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) index dropped 37.81 points or 0.36 percent to close at 10,451.47 points, yesterday. On the weekly basis, the index lost 4.54 points or 0.04 percent.
Market capitalisation rose by 0.17 percent to reach QR561bn during the week compared to QR560bn at the end of previous week. Trading value during week decreased by 11.77 percent to reach QR1,09bn compared to QR1.23bn a week ago. Trading volume fell by 4.33 percent to reach 38.78 million shares last week, against 40.53 million shares a week before, while the number of transactions fell by 7.08 percent, to reach 14,267 transactions as compared to 15,354 transactions.
Banking and Financial Services sector led traded value this week with 41.29 percent of the total traded value. Real Estate sector accounted for 18.75 percent. Industries sector accounted for 12.11 percent and Telecoms sector accounted for 11.76 percent. Banking and Financial Services sector led traded volume this week with 31.61 percent of the total traded volume. Real Estate sector accounted for 26.89 percent. Telecoms sector accounted for 26.61 percent and Industries sector accounted for 6.12 percent.
Banking and Financial Services sector led traded number of transactions this week accounted for 38.31 percent of the total number of transactions. Industries sector accounted for 18.95 percent. Real Estate sector accounted for 15.90 percent and Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted for 8.61 percent.
From the 44 listed companies, 12 ended higher last week, while 31 fell and one was unchanged. Masraf Al Rayan led trading value during this week accounted for 12.83 percent of the total traded value. QNB accounted for 11.04 percent and Vodafone Qatar accounted for 8.65 percent.
The volume of shares traded decreased to 6.6 million yesterday from 7.66 million on Wednesday while the value of shares fell to QR173m from QR201m on Wednesday.
From the 44 companies listed on QSE, shares of 37 saw trading yesterday. From these 12 gained and 25 companies closed lower.
Indices of three sectors ended in green and remained four sectors ended in red today. QSE Total Return Index dropped 0.36 percent to 17,431.97 points. QSE Al Rayan Islamic Index down 0.28 percent to 4,172.96 points and QSE All Share Index decreased 0.34 percent to 2,955.91 points.
