Car tinting facilities are cashing-in on huge demand for their services with summer months round the corner. Cost of getting vehicles tinted has sky rocketed, recent visits to different tinting workshops has revealed.
“Normal quality tint films, which is Nano HB will cost QR750 for four window, whereas Nano Super Ceramic is a bit costly as it is the best one available in Doha market. It costs QR 2000 and has 88% heat rejection,” said one of the installers, when The Peninsula enquired about charges for tinting a saloon car.
“We offer discounts on the prices depending on the car model. We take one hour to fix the tints after the selection of the tint paper but due to rush we take approximately two hours. We do give priority for female customers, as we don’t want ladies to wait for long,” he added.
Car tint films serve two important purposes, to lessen glare and keep the interior of the vehicle cool by rejecting as much heat as it can from the sun. “The summer season ushers in many motorists who either bought new cars or want their old tint films replaced. Demand for tint films will increase in the coming months. Every year June and July are packed with motorists to get their car window’s tinted,” said another tint installer of a different outlet.
Meanwhile, discussing the usual hassles with the customers, one of the tint installer said, “We are using three types of tinting films Economy, Ceramic and Ultra Solar Rejection. Some of our local clients want their old tints replaced while a few others want to upgrade to a better type” of tint film. Not all of our clients can afford ceramic tint films but there is a wide range of brands available that could serve as alternatives and still provide quality performance.”
Another installer explained  that they provide two types of tints, which includes Nano Ceramic and Value Chronic. He told The Peninsula that: “Both of the tints we provide have 99% UV protection the difference is in qualities, for four windows with Nano Ceramic tint we charge QR2,700. The Value Chromic, which is high quality and stronger than the first, costs QR3,500 for four windows.”
