Qatar’s Division-E Toastmasters recently conducted the annual Gavel clubs contest at Birla Public School auditorium.
Winners from 10 gavel clubs (Shaheen, ICC, Doha, BPS, Dukhan, Al Khor, KEF, Qatar, Oasis and EF) participated in four categories — International Speech, Humorous Speech, Evaluation Speech and Table Topic Speech. Gaveliers are mentored by a team including Syed Abid Hussaini, Susan Mathews, Anil Nair, Hari Raghavan, Salauddin, Sundaresan, Sybille Sajeet, Mary Jayaweera, Uma Mantha and Shajil Kader.
Contest was coordinated by Sundaresan Subramanian, Division E Gavels Coordinator.
Winners are:
International Speech: Narsimhan Ravi, Nihan Yousef and Shweta Grace came first, second and third respectively.
Humorous Speech: First place went to Manickam Manikandan, second place to Sparsh Garg and Dany Sunish Varghese came third.
Evaluation Speech: First, second and third went to Sharon John, Narsimhan Ravi and Sparsh Arora.
Table Topic Speech: Sharon John won the first place, Adhithya Arun stood second and Shaleen Jain third.
