Doha: Al Jeryan Stud’s AJS Haizum delivered a dominant performance under jockey Tomas Lukasek to claim the Al Dibal Cup in style at Al Rayyan Racecourse yesterday.
The seven-year-old, trained by M H K Al Attiyah, made a strong start in the 1900m Local Purebred Arabian Handicap feature, accelerating further down the home straight to fend off a challenge from Al Mutaghatris, ultimately securing a two-length victory.

Jockey Lukasek, who guided AJS Haizum to victory, also completed a double on the day.
He had earlier steered Jihad El Ahmad-trained Mutamarrid to a commanding win in the Local Thoroughbred Handicap 45-65.
The duo of trainer Hamad Al Jehani and jockey Dylan Browne McMonagle also celebrated their second victory in the seven-race meeting when Leicester Square stormed to a huge six-length win in the 2500m Thoroughbred Handicap 70-90.
The pair notched up their first title when Ready Reckoner topped the Thoroughbred Handicap 60-80 by two lengths.
Meanwhile, the Purebred Arabian Handicap 60-80 saw Arenteiro reigning supreme under Marco Casamento, while Mashadi sealed the Thoroughbred Novice Plate under Ivan Rossi.
Hadi Al Ramzani-trained Jalila Alghania opened action with a superb three-and-a-half length triumph in the Purebred Arabian Novice Plate with Youssef Lachhab in the saddle.
Today’s the H H Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Thani Trophy day will feature nine races including prestigious Ebraz Cup – Thoroughbred (Class 1 QA – Gr2) international race and the H H Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Thani Trophy Local Purebred Arabian (Class 1) contest.
