DOHA: The Ministry of Economy and Commerce has instructed retail outlets not to sell MR.K toy guns as many children have sustained burns while playing with the guns. It has also banned sale of gunshots (8 shot Plastic Disc Cap) used in the guns. The gunshots create loud noise and spark when fired with the guns.

Officials have seized several guns from shops. The ministry has asked customers not to buy them as they are dangerous for children. Shopkeepers and other retailers have also been asked not to import the toys. If any shopkeeper is found selling these guns, he will be punished as per the laws. Customers can file complaints about sale on the ministry’s free telephone number 8005000. The Peninsula
