DOHA: Arab-German Relations Conference organised by the Forum of Arab and International Relations opens tomorrow at Katara Building 15.
The two-day conference will discuss the prospects and future of Arab-German relations in the political, cultural and economic areas.
Academic experts, politicians, leaders and researchers from the Arab community in Germany will participate in the forum to be opened by Dr Mohamad Hamed Alahmary, Director, Forum of Arab and International Relations.
The opening session will feature German Orientalist Prof. Udo Steinbach, Director, Middle East/North Africa Governance Center at Humboldt-Viadrina School of Governance in Berlin.
He will speak on historical and contemporary realities of the Arab-German relations and German settings to important Arab issues.
Prof. Sefik Alp Bahadir from Center for Iraq Studies, Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen, will talk about the development of German-Iraqi relations since the Third Gulf War.
‘The Relations among the European Union and the Maghreb Countries in the 21st Century: Opportunities and Risks in a Changing Environment’ will be the topic of a presentation by Prof. Mohammed Senoussi, Academics Research and Development Director, American University of Leadership Morocco, Rabat.
Dr Bilal El-Zayat, Senior Physician, University Hospital Giessen-Marburg, will speak on German-Arabic scientific cooperation in the medical field.
In the past few months, Berlin has witnessed celebrations organised by Forum of Arab and International Relations during which the Arabic translation of the German Philosophy Encyclopedia was launched.
It includes 3,000 pages and 12 volumes and will be available in hard and digital copies.
