Taipei: An earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale jolted the waters off the northeastern coast of Taiwan late on Wednesday.
The epicenter of the earthquake was about 107.2 kilometers east of Yilan County Hall at a depth of 76.3 km, the bureau's Seismology Center said.
The strongest tremor was felt in Yilan's Nanao, with an intensity of 3.0.
There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage from the quake.
