Doha: The Islamic Da’wa Organisation has opened a new mosque in Rosniga in Uganda at a cost of QR114,000, donated by two Qataris. With this mosque that can accommodate 700 worshipers, the number of mosques built by the organisation and financed by Qataris has reached 123 in Uganda. Sheikh Hammad Abdul Qader, Director-General of the office of the organisation in Qatar, said Rosniga is about 420km from the capital Kampala and needs mosques and other Islamic institutions. It is inhabited by 7,000 Muslims in need of mosques to perform mass prayers and receive teaching of their faith.
He said Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni visited the mosque considered a prominent monument in the area, adding Museveni had visited projects carried out by the organisation.
