A swarm of cranes flies to a harvested corn field in Karnin, near Stralsund, Germany, yesterday. Up to 70,000 cranes currently rest in Western Pomerania. Because of the mild weather and the early breeding time, migratory birds came unusually early to the rest areas between Fischland-Darss and the island of Ruegen.
