PHCC to mark International Nurses Day

DOHA: The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) today celebrates the role nurses play in delivering the highest level of quality care to their patients by promoting the activities and services that nurses provide in all health care centers. This celebration will coincide with the International Nurses Day.

This year’s theme is ‘Nurses: a force for Change; Care Effective, Cost Effective’. 
This focuses on the nurses as a force for change who have the chance to improve efficiency and reduce waste. 
According to the International Council of Nurses, nurses can improve prescribing guidance, information, training and practice. 
They can also educate individuals and communities on detection and surveillance of counterfeit medicines, as well as develop and implement clinical and evidence based best practice guidelines. 
In addition, nurses can evaluate and incorporate into the policy evidence the costs and impact of interventions, technologies and medicines.
Primary Health Care Corporation appreciated the work done by the PHCC nurses. This day is a true opportunity to congratulate all nursing staff at the Primary Health Care Corporation on the annual International Nurses Day. 
This day is in recognition of all nurses efforts and contributions to the excellent level of health care services that our patients receive”.
“The important role of nurses is to protect, promote, optimize health, prevent illness and injury, alleviate suffering, and advocate in health care for individuals, families, communities, and populations. all nurses play a vital role in the success of the health care services in Qatar generally, and in PHCC in particular.
Fathima Abdulrahman Abdi, Nurse at Airport Health Center, explained the importance of this day.
 “The International Nursing Day is an occasion to celebrate the role that we play in providing the patients and their families with safe medical services that stand up to the highest level of international standards”.
In addition she added:
 “We are the first point of contact for health services and our role encompasses collaborative care of individuals of all ages, families and communities, sick or well and in all settings. As part of our job, we promote health, prevent illness and care ill, disabled and dying people”.
