Doha: The Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani received on Sunday a phone call from the President of the United Arab Emirates HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
During the call, HH the Amir and HH the UAE President reviewed the brotherly relations between the two countries and ways to support and enhance them, in addition to discussing regional and international developments.
During the call, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed the United Arab Emirates’ support for the State of Qatar's bid to host the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group for the year 2026, and accordingly the UAE will withdraw its candidacy for the meetings, wishing success to Qatar in hosting the international gathering.
For his part, HH the Amir expressed his thanks to his brother, HH the President of the UAE, for his country's support for Qatar in its candidacy and for his sincere fraternal wishes.
