Doha, Qatar: Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani, Chairman of Qatar Chamber (QC) and First Vice-President of the Arab British Chamber of Commerce (ABCC), affirmed the strength of the historic relations between the Arab world and the United Kingdom, particularly in the commercial, economic, and investment fields.

Speaking as Guest of Honour at the celebration marking the 50th anniversary of the ABCC, Sheikh Khalifa praised the Chamber as a distinguished institution that, for five decades, has served as a cornerstone in strengthening commercial and economic ties between Great Britain and the Arab world.

He noted that the Arab British partnership, built on principles of trust, mutual respect, and shared interests, has played a vital role in reinforcing bridges of communication and cooperation between the two sides.

Addressing attendees at the ceremony held at the Biltmore Mayfair, Sheikh Khalifa underscored the significant role played by the private sector in deepening strategic partnerships and contributing to economic and social development that benefits future generations.

“The vital role of Arab investments in the United Kingdom, alongside the contributions of British companies through their expertise in the development of projects in our region, reflects the strength and resilience of our trade and economic partnership,” he said.

Sheikh Khalifa reaffirmed that the longstanding ties with the Arab British Chamber of Commerce form an integral part of the historic relationship between Britain and the Arab world, noting that ABCC’s initiatives and activities have significantly contributed to boosting trade exchange and facilitating access to promising business opportunities.

The celebration was attended by Mr. Rashid bin Nasser Al Kaabi, a member of the Qatar Chamber’s Board of Directors, Rita Massoud, Interim Secretary General & CEO of the ABCC, along with several heads of Arab chambers and a wide gathering of Arab and British business leaders.
