To celebrate the recently inaugurated flight between Poland and Warsaw, Polish chef Witold Drobny will cook in The Grill Restaurant at Grand Hyatt Doha for ten days.

The chef will offer a creative fusion menu of Polish and Arabic cuisine until December 19, giving locals an opportunity to try the tastes of Warsaw, which is linked to Doha with a new Qatar Airways route since December 5.

This experience is part of an exchange, which will have Chef Wael Aboelela, from Doha, cook in the Grand Hyatt Regency Hotel in Warsaw also for ten days.

While in Doha, Chef Witold Drobny will be showing off some of the classic Polish flavours, such as seafood and Polish spices. For Drobny “this will be an amazing experience to understand more about the Arabic culture, I will definitely learn some great new skills, while I also share my 19 years culinary experience.”

The initiative was launched at a press conference attended by the Ambassador of Poland, Robert Rostek, the Commercial Vice-President of Qatar Airways, Ehab Amin, and the manager of Grand Hyatt Doha, Garry Friend, together with the chef. Fallowed by the press briefing, attendees were treated to lunch.

The menu featured some of the dishes that will be available at The Grill restaurant until December 19. Hummus beruity and Herring tartar, were served as appetisers, followed by Babaganoush and Smoked venison tenderloin. The menu also included Arabic lentil soup and White borsch soup. While the main courses were Roasted quill pomegranate syrup and trout crayfish sauce, all topped up with Mohallabia vanilla sauce and Apple cake ‘szarlotka.’

For the Polish Ambassador, this is an “excellent opportunity to get to know Polish food and later travel to Warsaw with Qatar Airways.”
