Umm Salal bag first win as Al Wakrah stun Al Rayyan

Doha: Umm Salal beat Al Shamal 1-0 while Al Wakrah stunned Al Rayyan in thrilling Round 3 encounters of the Ooredoo Cup  yesterday.

In the Group A clash which took place at Al Khor Stadium, Abdullah Khaled scored the only goal of the match in the 60th minute to earn full points for Umm Salal who clinched their first victory in the tournament.
Al Shamal already had four points.

In the 19th minute, Umm Salal almost scored through Abdulrahman Raafat who went long-range with a left-footed drive that sailed above the Al Shamal crossbar.

On the hour mark, Abdullah Khaled, stationed on the left of goalkeeper Hassan Idriss inside the Al Shamal box, drilled in a powerful right-footed drive past him. It was a fluent move from Umm Salal that ended in slick fashion.

In the second match of the day, at Qatar SC stadium, a brace from Mohamed Benyettou (25', 90'+1'), Hazem Shehata (67') and Omid Ebrahimi (56') helped Al Wakrah beat Al Rayyan 4-3 despite a brilliant hat-trick by Yohan Boli (45'+1, 68' and 76'). The win took Al Wakrah to the top of the Group A table with 6 points while winless Al Rayyan remain at the bottom.
