Doha: Deputy Emir H H Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday directed a comprehensive review of security and safety procedures in all university facilities and make sure they maintain the highest quality and safety standards.
The Deputy Emir, who is also Chairman of Qatar University’s (QU) Board of Regents, chaired the board’s fourth meeting for the 2016-2017 academic year, at the Emiri Diwan yesterday.
The Board members discussed a number of topics and took necessary decisions.
At the end of the meeting, QU President informed the Board on the latest developments regarding the drowning two female students and the measures taken by the university to determine the circumstances of the incident.
The QU Board of Regents expressed sincere condolences to the families of the two students, praying Allah the Almighty to bestow his Grace and forgiveness on them, and to grant their families patience and solace.
