WASHINGTON: Pakistan and the United States signed an agreement to build Neelum–Jhelum Hydropower dam in Pakistan.
During the signing ceremony held here on Friday, the agreement was signed by Pakistan's finance minister, Ishaq Dar and the Director General of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).
Pakistani official sources said that OPEC will provide a loan for this project.
Speaking on the occasion, the Pakistani minister said that his government is focussing on the construction the Hydropower plants in the country to generate cheap electricity, saying such as Neelum–Jhelum Hydropower dam creates an economic revolution in the country. (QNA)
