Ministry announces sale of subsidized sheep from July 13

Doha: The sale of subsidized sheep to citizens will begin on Tuesday, July 13 until July 23, as part of the annual initiative launched by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry said in a statement that it has agreed with the Widam Food Company to provide approximately 12,500 heads of Arab sheep, to be sold at subsidized and discounted prices for citizens at QR 1,000 for the local sheep (35 kg and more) and QR 950 for Syrian sheep (45 kg or more).

The sale of sheep will take place at the Widam slaughterhouses in Al Wakrah, Al Shamal, Al Khor, Al Mazroua and Al Sheehaniya, for Qatari citizens only with one head of sheep is allowed in order to reach the target group.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry stressed that it will intensify its inspection campaigns from the first day of sale, to ensure compliance with the subsidized prices and the implementation of safety procedures.
