Ideal Indian School officials during the announcement of MASET 2023 Olympiad.
Doha: Ideal Indian School (IIS) announces Mathematics and Science excellence test (MASET 2023), an Olympiad examination for students of classes 8,9, and 10. It is duly approved by the Ministry of Education (MOE) and it is the first Olympiad examination conducted by a CBSE school.
Students currently (2023-24) pursuing these classes are eligible to register and excel in pursuing mathematics and science. Students from IB, IGCSE, and ICSE also can apply for MASET.
MASET Olympiad aims to promote the spirit of inquiry and scientific temper among aspiring students. MASET provides an opportunity to exhibit real potential and capabilities. It immensely helps in identifying one’s areas of weakness and strength by analysing the performance in the examination and beating the competition with a strategy.
School President Dr. Hassan Kunhi M.P, Principal Shaik Shamim Saheb, Coordinators of the Olympiad Rafeek and Riyaz attended the press conference held in the school premises today.
MASET will be conducted for the students of grades 8,9 and 10 with their respective class science and Mathematics syllabus provided by IIS. The question paper consists of 50 Multiple choice questions (MCQ), 25 questions from science and 25 questions from Mathematics, all questions carry equal marks, and there will be a negative mark for every wrong answer. 1/4 will be deducted from marks scored for every incorrect answer.
Registration opens on May 7 and the last date will be on May 25. The examination will be conducted on June 3, Saturday. Following that, the results will be announced on June 8, Thursday and award ceremony will be hosted on June 10, Saturday.
The Olympiad examination will be hosted at IIS from 10 AM to 11 AM.
Any number of students can register from the school, and students can also register individually by visiting the school website www.idealschoolqatar.com
In each category, the awards are as follows. Student securing the first prize will receive QAR3,000, Gold medal, and a certificate of merit. Student coming at the second place will be rewarded with QAR2,000, Silver Medal and a certificate of merit. And the third prize winner will obtain QAR1,000, Bronze Medal and a certificate of merit. The award ceremony will also be held at IIS Abu Humour Doha Qatar
Students can register by downloading the registration form and paying a fee of QAR15. The filled-in forms must reach the office of the school before 3 PM on May 20. Students can pay the fee at the school counters and group registrations will be accepted only at the participating schools where the information about the MASET will be displayed, and registration forms will be accepted along with the fee.
