Doha: The Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs (MADLSA) has conducted inspection campaigns to ensure companies adhere to the precautionary measures necessary to curb the spread of coronavirus (Covid 19), and the compliance with occupational safety and health requirements at housing and workplaces.
In this context, the Ministry recorded 8 violations during its inspection campaigns of a number of companies.
According to the MADLSA, two companies, in Lusail and Al Wakrah areas, were found violating the decision that all workers are required to wear masks while working,.
Another company in Al Wakrah was reported for not committing to the decision to limit passengers on the bus to 50%.
Five companies were reported for not in compliance with occupational safety and health requirements at the residence site in the industrial area.
The MADLSA referred the officials of these companies to the security authorities to take the necessary measures and edit seizure records in violation of occupational safety and health requirements.
The Ministry stressed the need to adhere to the Labor Law and the ministerial decisions implementing it, as well as the Cabinet's and the ministry’s policy and procedures that companies must take to mitigate the spread of coronavirus (Covid 19).
In the event of non-compliance, the penalties stipulated in Decree Law No. (17) of 1990 regarding the prevention of infectious diseases are imposed on the offending official by imprisonment for a period not exceeding three years and a fine of no more than QR 200,000 or one of these two penalties, as well as penalties of Labor Law No. 14 of 2004 and the ministerial decisions implementing it.
