Doha: Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) is planning to hold a blood donation day in association with Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) on Tuesday at QIB’s Head office in Grand Hamad Street between 9am and 12:30pm, giving both QIB customers and employees the opportunity to donate blood.
The campaign is an integral part of the bank’s corporate social responsibility programme, and aims to support the blood banks and blood requirements of local hospitals, a press release issued by the bank said yesterday.
QIB’s responsibility to the community has always been at the forefront of its obligations and is a central pillar of the bank’s values. It has continuously committed itself to a series of corporate social responsibility programmes in the community, including educational, health, and general social programmes.
It is worth mentioning that donating blood has several health benefits, including: rejuvenating the donor’s bone marrow, thus prompting the production of new blood cells and revitalising pulmonary circulation.  Also it helps curing certain ailments such as the abnormal increase in red blood cell count and iron levels as well as any relevant complications.
