Riyadh: Qatar participated in the 39th meeting of Their Highnesses and Excellencies the Ministers of Interior of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC), which took place in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.
Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior and Commander of the Lekhwiya Force H E Major General Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Faisal Al Thani headed the Qatari delegation to the meeting.
Major General Sheikh Abdulaziz said that the meeting discussed several security issues regarding enhancing cooperation and coordination, building on what has been achieved in the joint Gulf security cooperation process, and improving security performance to meet the challenges and rapid changes on the regional and international stages.
He stressed that Gulf security cooperation is an essential pillar for maintaining security and stability in the region.
