DOHA: Sudan’s prominent Islamist and opposition leader, Hassan Al Turabi, said yesterday that many innocent people have been killed in Darfur and women raped. It was for this reason, he said, that he backs the ICC’s call to arrest President Omar Hassan Al Bashir. “He should face the ICC and prove his innocence,” said Al Turabi.
He was here yesterday to launch his book ‘Politics and Governance’. The book was published by Dar Al Arabia in 2011. Present at the launch was Jaber Al Harami, Editor-in-Chief of Dar Al Sharq.
