Amman: King Abdullah II, of Jordan opened yesterday the 2013 Jordan-US Business Forum with the participation of key Jordanian and US private and public sector leaders.

The three-day forum aims to enhance bilateral partnerships, as well as explore and seize mutually beneficial business opportunities in Jordan and the region.

The forum held at the King Hussein Business Park, will see Jordanian and US companies and business decision-makers discussing and identifying the potential opened by the Arab Spring in key sectors, as regional countries in transition seek to energise their economies.

Jordan, which against the backdrop of the Arab Spring repositioned itself as a regional haven of political and economic stability, seeks to leverage its reputation as a premium regional base for US companies interested in tapping expanding markets in the Levant and wider MENA regions, offering a conducive regulatory framework, fresh incentives, and free access to 350 million consumers in the Middle East.

Building on the success of the first Jordan-US Business Forum held in May 2011, this year’s event, will feature both plenary and industry-specific sessions tailored to provide first-hand insights into the unique competitive advantages that Jordan offers to regional business. QNA
